ABCs of Community Assets relaunch in November 2026
From engaging your local community, choosing a legal structure, and developing a business model, through to raising investment or negotiating a lease or freehold, the ABCs of Community Assets programme offers accessible, hands-on guidance. It is a course designed for groups committed to broad community ownership who have a specific site or asset in their sights, (rather than established community asset organisations). Register interest if your organisation is negotiating an asset transfer, campaigning to save a much-loved space, or working out how to finance an acquisition. This learning programme will support you to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to take your next steps.
Ten community groups in the early stage of their journey towards owning a community asset are invited (thanks to support from This Day Foundation) to become learning partners within the next series of ABCs of Community Assets which runs from November 2026 to May 2027. They will receive, free:
- Funded access to the online course (10 workshops) for two members
- Travel expenses for one study visit to an established community-owned asset
- Monthly learning sharing sessions with a member of the ABCs team
- Guidance on follow-on support and funding opportunities.
Register your interest at Stir To Action. The deadline for submissions of interest is 15 August 2026.
