Principle 5 committee meeting

Aizlewood's Mill, Nursery Street, Sheffield, S3 8GG

The monthly meeting of Principle 5, Yorkshire Co-operative Resource Centre.

This is a regional group within the co-operative movement, based in Sheffield, with a co-operative lending library for individuals and co-ops. As a co-operative, Principle 5 is member-run and owned (not “funded”), by over a hundred individual members and member co-operatives.

A range of publications are available to members and the public, the latest being Principle 5’s fifth pamphlet, Universal Basic Income. This is a key political text re-published under a new title, by Edward Carpenter, 1897. It asks the simple question, “What would happen to society if people did not need to work in order to live fulfilling lives?”

Principle 5 produces a newsletter monthly, current edition and back issues are available online at https://www.principle5.coop/newsletter

To support Principle 5 with an annual membership subscription is very helpful, the membership income has to cover running costs of the archive/office (basically £20-45 per person, organisations from £50), full details here:
