OPUS at the Showroom

Showroom Cinema Cafe, Paternoster Row, S1 2BX
Opus is a worker-owned social enterprise based in Sheffield, with the aim of finding systemic responses to society’s most complex problems, established since 2008. They have hosted projects in the city that further the conversation around issues like poverty, inequality and climate breakdown. Their work, ranging from the famous Festival of Debate to Leaflet Distribution, recognises the problems faced by our city, the UK and the wider world.

Now, they are considering a return of the hard-copy magazine. As part of a “fact-finding mission to discover what people in Sheffield want to see from a return to print” the team is available to talk: a chance to connect and chat in person. The paper-based magazine Now Then meant a lot to people in the city, when it was produced monthly over several years – you can see and download the entire back issue collection at Archive.org.

OPUS team members will be on a table, from about 5:30pm until 7:00pm. Look out for them sitting with some copies of the old print magazine.

There will be plenty of other opportunities to be part of the process if you can’t make it this time around.

And you sign up to stay in touch with OPUS, and share your thoughts in five minutes via this survey .
