Film screening: Fires and Fascism
Common Ground Community Centre, Woodstock Road, Nether Edge S7 1GR
A film screening hosted by Fire Spark Films, of Pete Knapp’s first film, made on a shoestring budget with the support of activists and crowdfunders. Fires and Fascism is about extreme wildfires, more than just a result of climate change, they also involve big business, organised crime, and the rise of the far right. It shows the role of protest, direct action, and community projects as tools to suppress these threats.
Doors open at 6:30pm, film starts at 6:40pm. The film lasts nearly an hour, followed by Q&A with the director.
