Demonstration: Palestine Solidarity – No Palantir in our NHS

Outside Sheffield Town Hall, Pinstone Street S1 2HH

A demonstration protesting Palantir’s involvement in South Yorkshire’s NHS, timed to coincide with the City Council’s Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee meeting at Sheffield Town Hall.

Palantir is a US tech company, initially funded by the CIA, which specialises in AI-powered military and surveillance technology and data analytics for customers like the Ministry of Defence, Israeli government, US military, and ICE. Palantir has been accused of state surveillance, racist policing and human rights violations.

It is possible that Palantir will be on the agenda of the meeting and they may invite members of local health trusts and the Integrated Care Board to answer questions in relation to Palantir’s Federated Data Platform and its uptake by these institutions. Join the campaign to demand that this is stopped: the issue deserves public scrutiny now!

Assemble at 9am for demonstration including speeches from 9:15am. The Council’s Meeting starts at 10am, attendance optional while the demonstration continues outside until 11am approx.

No Palantir in the NHS South Yorkshire are a grassroots campaign, supported by Medact Sheffield, and part of network by Healthworkers for a Free Palestine. Medact Sheffield is a local branch of London-based charity Medact, formed to organise for health justice, a world where everyone is able to live healthy, dignified lives.

There is also a national petition started by Zack Polanski of the Green Party which already has over 100,000 signatures and rising: sign here at 38 Degrees
