Network of Radical Archives and Libraries news

The Network of Radical Archives and Libraries (NORLA) has been re-established for 2026, and have been highly praised in feedback about their Digital Archive. Originally based at the Bishopsgate Institute in London, it declined during the Covid-19 era, but interest in independent radical projects is again high.

They share anniversary festivities with Bradford’s famous 1 in 12 Club which now has a beautifully refurbished Library on the top floor, joining places such as the Mayday Rooms (London), the Commonweal Peace Museum (Bradford), the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre and Education Trust (Manchester), and the Kate Sharpley Library (US and UK), as well as other people interested in getting involved or starting up their own project.

The NORLA Network is now setting up an email list and newsletter. Watch this space for how to join, and news about the planned NORLA website and upcoming Radical Bookfairs.
