Brambles housing co-op is looking for new members

Brambles housing co-op in Sheffield is looking for three new members: rooms available in Burngreave, please share with your networks.

They are looking for community-minded people to live in this large housing co-op with 8 bedrooms for members and one room for solidarity/guest space. It has a beautiful big garden and lots of exciting work and projects planned. Members are responsible for running the coop as well as doing the jobs that a landlord would do (or not!) in a rented property: this is about 1 day a week. They are looking for people who would like to live here for at least 2 years.

You do not need to have lived in a housing co-op before, or know how they work. You must want to live in a communal home where members support each other and the co-op, to keep it going for another 30 years. (Brambles has been part of the local community since 1991!)

Brambles is a vegetarian co-op, so you would need to feel comfortable with this at home. To keep the balance of a mixed gender house they are especially interested in applications from women and non-binary people. You cannot apply if you are a landlord and make money from other people’s housing needs, and they only take forward applications from people who are willing to speak openly about their finances.

Rent: £220-420/month, (variable – if you have more money you pay more, so the house stays as affordable as it can) plus Bills: £65/month.
