The Freecycle Network is an international and UK charity enabling people to keep household goods out of landfill by giving away things they don’t want, to people who can use them. It has been running even longer than Freegle, which is similar, and also recommended.

To join a local Freecycle group you first have to sign up here, which is free but seems to be not working (2025: It displays an ERROR MESSAGE which says “Username contains prohibited characters“) if anyone has any advice or news of Sheffield City Freecycle please help to update Alt-Sheff by getting in contact by email, thanks.
