workers.coop is a fairly new organisation, for workers in co-operatives.

The Assembly in nearby Leeds brings worker co-operatives from across the UK together to celebrate achievements, strengthen cooperation and explore future opportunities.

The programme will include member-led workshops, skill-shares, training and breakout sessions focused on the social infrastructure co-operatives need to grow. A free public session on “what is a worker co-op” is planned, alongside a Thursday evening social at The Holbeck’s weekly pub quiz.

In partnership with Stir to Action, workers.coop also supports the 21st Century Social Clubs initiative which highlights the preserving and growing of community spaces, democratically run by the people who use them, as being essential to worker co-operation. These spaces bring us together, and foster the skills we need to participate effectively in direct democracy.

The venue has a ramped entrance, lift access and an accessible toilet. Tickets include refreshments and lunch on both days: £40 for small co-operatives and individuals, £80 for larger co-operatives with ten or more members, and £120 for solidarity tickets supporting bursary places.
