Join members of Sheffield for Democracy, for an hour or more of socialising.

A chance to meet and share season’s greetings – and to talk about current issues and campaigns. It’s an interesting time, as the UK government is pushing the principle of local government with a “strong leader and cabinet”, with regional mergers forming larger local governments, and elected mayors. All of these ideas are “top-down” and centralising, damaging the position of local councillors, and the principle of democracy being from the “grassroots”.
