Film screening: The People’s Emergency Briefing

Hallam Hall, Owen Building, SHU City Campus, S1 1WB

The National Emergency Briefing was a major event at Westminster Central Hall, with leading experts. It laid out the impacts of climate and nature breakdown on UK food security, public health, infrastructure, the economy and national security. That national event has been made into this 50-minute film, now being screened in communities across the UK to build a shared understanding of climate and nature risks, and to support constructive public dialogue about future choices.

Local MPs, councillors and other influential people have also been invited to attend. Following the film, there will be a facilitated panel discussion. The panel will include Olivia Blake MP, Cllr Ruth Abbey, Dr Mike Thomson, Jonathan Hind (South Yorkshire Ecofit) and Parents for Future.

Attendance is free, but book in advance at the link below. Note that some of the content on impacts of climate change may be distressing to some viewers. The film is certificate 12A. Itwill also be shown at The Showroom on Monday 6th July, 6pm.
